Plexer Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
Plexer is a Chrome extension that lets users connect an AI provider and use AI from Chrome’s side panel.
Information stored by Plexer
Plexer may store the following information in Chrome storage on your device:
- AI provider settings
- API keys you enter
- Selected models
- Chat threads
- Extension preferences
- Error or diagnostic information
Information sent to AI providers
When you send a message, Plexer sends your prompt to the AI provider you selected.
If you choose to include additional context, Plexer may also send:
- Current webpage text or page metadata
- Screenshot context
- Google Sheets context
- Relevant conversation history
This information is sent to the provider you configured, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini. Their use of that information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
API keys
Plexer does not provide AI model access directly. Users connect their own provider account by entering an API key from a supported AI provider.
Page and screenshot context
Plexer does not automatically send every page you visit to an AI provider. Page, screenshot, and Google Sheets context are user-controlled features. Context is included only when you choose to use those features.
Google Sheets
Plexer may interact with Google Sheets when you use the optional Sheets workflow. Sheet data may be included in prompts only when you choose to use that feature.
Analytics and diagnostics
Plexer may collect limited diagnostic information to understand errors and improve reliability. Diagnostic information is not used for advertising and is not sold.
Data sale and advertising
Plexer does not sell user data. Plexer does not use user data for personalized advertising or retargeting.
Limited Use disclosure
Plexer’s use and transfer of information received from Chrome extension APIs is limited to providing and improving the extension’s user-facing features. Plexer does not use this information for personalized advertising, does not sell this information, and does not allow humans to read user content except where necessary for security, legal compliance, user-requested support, or abuse investigation.
